A quality product depends not only on a clear initial intention, but also on development, control of limits, and coherent review\. It is not judged only by the initial intent, but by the coherence between intention, form, context, and use; for this reason art is always historically localized and tends to express the standards of its time, but does not fully coincide with them\. Intentionality that overlaps with purpose must always be aware of its own limits, seeking to overcome them without being overcome by them\. I think one of the best ways to analyze the problem is in terms of artistic production, in the broadest possible sense\. Human beings do not always create with clear intent, and likewise it is not always clear for those who receive it; modern art is exactly this\. In aesthetic terms, art has lost its truth value since the Greeks \(to know who the Greeks were, just look at their art\), the perfect balance between form and content in classical art\. Our modern art is expressive, in which intentionality goes beyond form\. Art can no longer exhaust who we are; in fact, we are no longer sure of knowing what is art and what is not\. We are perhaps the first cultural reality unable to recognize art at first glance\. This explains what Hegel means by the ‘End of Art’: it does not signify the**cessation of artistic production**, but rather the loss of its**supreme function**; art is no longer the principal means by which the Spirit comes to know itself\. When intentionality goes beyond the effective capacity of control, the result is more similar to slop\. The initial prompt for truth value is not enough; it is not a finished product in itself, but it can be a note of intentionality not developed or badly developed\. ## Slop, pop art and mass market Writing is living through an issue that, until now, we had confined to the realm of representational art and manufacturing: reproduction in the mass market\. It is as if, for the first time, writing as a representation of thought had lost its "**aura**" \(taking up Walter Benjamin's reflection in["The work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction"](https://www.amazon.com/Work-Art-Age-Mechanical-Reproduction/dp/1667156071)\)\. It is the progression of a step graphic art has already lived through, and that pop art has already introduced and elaborated\. The same intentionality is limited, as[Falcinelli reminds us](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWd1VxvoDNH/), and limits the artistic space: we can find overexposure of faces from the last twenty years rather than of all time, which is why they are more present on the world wide web\. The consequences of production always limit representative products to roughly the last twenty years\. ## Style at the heart of problem The real problem remains the loss of style, as already said in[The real danger of AI \- Brains in a vat](https://guidovetere.nova100.ilsole24ore.com/2025/10/19/il-vero-pericolo-dellai/)\. If older generations can rely on their old works as a reproducible signature, the risk is that newer generations will never find one of their own\. While for older generations the risk is to remain trapped in a style that no longer matches their own person, which is always evolving\. There will probably be a moment when we are so full of slop that we can no longer find style, and perhaps that moment is already[now](https://theconversation.com/more-than-half-of-new-articles-on-the-internet-are-being-written-by-ai-is-human-writing-headed-for-extinction-268354)\. As if all the craftsmanship of the world had become a standardized product\. I strongly believe that there can be a return to understanding the value of human generation, without the absence of slop of course, but before style can be protected, the channels of important communication must be protected, to whom AI has provided a vital tool in this era of post\-truth and cognitive war\.
