Summary

Tavily Search and Extract have been integrated into NanoClaw, enabling personal AI agents to perform real-time web searches and content extraction with keyless access.

Your @NanoClaw_AI agent just got a new, live view of the web. Tavily Search and Extract are now available in NanoClaw, and there's no API key required to start. With the Tavily integration, your persistent, isolated NanoClaw agents in Slack, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, and the CLI, come with: - Search and Extract for current, source-backed answers - A keyless start, then connect a Tavily key when you need more capacity (the agent never sees the key) - Reliable returns you can use for developer research, scheduled intelligence briefs, or a chat assistant that reads a URL and answers with receipts Demo below. You can run the /add-tavily-tool in NanoClaw providers that support MCP, and install it on multiple agent groups. Here’s how: https://hubs.li/Q04vHzdF0

Overview

NanoClawis a lightweight runtime for personal AI agents. It connects an agent to channels such as Slack, Telegram, Discord, and the CLI, gives it a persistent workspace and memory, supports scheduled tasks, and runs sessions in isolated containers.Tavily adds current web information to that setup. A NanoClaw agent can search for recent documentation, releases, API changes, incidents, and security advisories, then extract the relevant pages before replying in the same conversation.

What the integration adds

The default NanoClaw skill exposes two tools through Tavily’s remote MCP server:

  • Tavily Searchfinds ranked, relevant sources from the live web.
  • Tavily Extractreads clean content from one or more URLs.

The tools are added only to the agent groups you select and work with NanoClaw providers that support MCP.

Set up Tavily in NanoClaw

What you can build

  • **Developer research assistant:**Check current documentation, release notes, GitHub issues, and migration risks without leaving the team chat.
  • **Scheduled intelligence brief:**Track a market, company, or topic and deliver a recurring update with sources.
  • **Source-backed chat assistant:**Answer current questions and read URLs shared in the conversation before responding.

Keyless access and API keys

The NanoClaw skill starts with Tavily’s keyless access, so you can try Search and Extract without creating an account or adding a key. If you later need higher limits, NanoClaw can store a Tavily API key in its credential gateway. The gateway injects the credential when the request is sent; the key does not need to live in the agent’s prompt, workspace, or container environment.
