Summary
The author believes that after the Strata revolution, prices for memory above 32G and mid-range graphics cards above 16G are very likely to rise, and suggests that a configuration of 64G RAM + 16G VRAM can run Strata for just over a thousand yuan. The quoted post shows that DDR5 prices (especially 16G and 32G) have already deteriorated significantly.

From my personal perspective, the products that are very likely to see price increases right now after the Strata revolution are: memory above 32GB, and mid-range graphics cards above 16GB. As long as you have these two basic items — 64GB of RAM plus 16GB of VRAM — you can run Strata, for a total cost of just over a thousand.

So is a "scaled-up Strata" coming for >128GB models?
A community post speculates whether a scaled-up or 'stratified' version of GLM 5.3-Flash (or similar) is coming for models over 128GB, while the author worries their newly built 256GB RAM Epyc server with dual RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPUs might already be obsolete.

A new strata architecture lets GPUs with 12G VRAM pair with 128G system memory to run 100B+ models, triggering a market shift where old cards (3090, V100) and cheap DDR3 memory are in renewed demand, and even iPhones/Macs are being used as memory expansion for inference.
On-device AI hardware is no longer a viable business with excessive RAM prices
A developer of on-device AI hardware says rising memory and component prices (16GB LPDDR5X + 128GB NAND alone exceeding $300) may force device pricing above $1,500, undermining the business model despite positive customer feedback, and asks other AI hardware builders for strategies.
