A weaker rupee and a preference for dollar\-based investments are holding back broader interest\. Data centre operator Yotta is reportedly looking to raise $150\-200 million before its planned stock market debut in early 2027, the report says\. Similarly, Indian space startup Pixxel is also exploring fundraising opportunities in the U\.A\.E\., the report adds\. “The opportunity extends well beyond building data centres\. Can an Indian spacetech startup win in the US federal market? Bengaluru\-based Pixxel is betting big on it\. According to reporting by YourStory on October 30, 2026, the company has established 'Pixxel Federal,' a dedicated US subsidiary\. This isn't just about opening an office; it is a strategic move to secure contracts with American civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies\. It is fascinating to see Indian deep\-tech moving from just providing imagery to offering full\-stack sensing and satellite systems\. Seeing a homegrown brand navigate the complex world of international government operations is a proud moment for our ecosystem\. At Yatrix, we often talk about the scale of India\-first problems, but seeing Indian founders export that technical rigor to global defense markets is another level of ambition\. Separate from the spacetech news, the report also highlights how Indian enterprises are bracing for the future with Netpoleon India and QNu Labs partnering to advance quantum\-safe cybersecurity\. Between space and quantum tech, the 'Build in Public' narrative in India is getting much more sophisticated\. But this is bigger than just building data centres\. AI needs three things to scale: \- Computing power\. \- Reliable energy\. \- Strong digital infrastructure\. This investment brings all three into focus\. For India, it could strengthen its position in the global AI ecosystem while creating opportunities across technology, energy and telecommunications\.[\#ArtificialIntelligence](https://www.linkedin.com/login?session_redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.linkedin.com%2Ffeed%2Fhashtag%2Fartificialintelligence&trk=news_storyline_guest-text)[\#IndiaGrowth](https://www.linkedin.com/login?session_redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.linkedin.com%2Ffeed%2Fhashtag%2Findiagrowth&trk=news_storyline_guest-text)[\#BusinessStrategy](https://www.linkedin.com/login?session_redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.linkedin.com%2Ffeed%2Fhashtag%2Fbusinessstrategy&trk=news_storyline_guest-text) 6. Alpha Dhabi has committed $1 billion to a global AI fund, funded partly by recycling returns from its last one\. Announced on Monday \(Oct 26\) by Alpha Dhabi Holding \(ADX: ALPHADHABI\), a subsidiary of International Holding Company, with a filing to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange\. The commitment: • $1 billion, roughly AED 3\.67 billion, into Alpha Wave III, a global fund managed by Alpha Wave Global • Capital goes out over time against capital calls and the fund's investment programme • Funded from cash distributions recycled out of Alpha Wave Ventures II, plus existing resources • Returns come through distributions and exits over the fund's life The fund it is recycling from: • Alpha Dhabi put AED 9\.2 billion, about $2\.5 billion, into Alpha Wave Ventures II in 2022 • That vehicle gives it indirect exposure to SpaceX, OpenAI and Anthropic • Alpha Wave Global was formerly Falcon Edge Capital\. Fund II closed its second round at $10 billion in January 2022, writing tickets of $10 million to $150 million Alpha Dhabi itself was established in 2013 and manages more than 250 public and private investments across 45 countries\. Hamad Al Ameri, its managing director and group chief executive, said the investment supports the company's "portfolio diversification objectives and our focus on long\-term value creation\." Funding your next AI bet with the proceeds of your last one is a comfortable place to be standing\. Here's the operator read\. The funding structure is the interesting part\. This is being paid for out of distributions from the earlier fund, so it reads as a recycle of realised gains rather than fresh capital off the balance sheet\. It went to the exchange\. Most UAE AI news I have covered this month has been non\-binding MoUs with no figures\. A filing with a dollar amount behind it is a different category of information\. The direction is outbound\. Abu Dhabi has spent the year building compute and data centres at home\. This buys equity in companies building elsewhere, which is a separate way to hold the same theme\. A commitment is not a cheque\. The money moves as the fund calls it, so the deployment pace over the next few years will say more than the headline number does\. What I can't tell you yet: Alpha Wave III's target size, what it has bought so far, or what Fund II actually returned\. None of that is public\. Dubai just doubled its AI Campus target\. The last one landed two years early\. At the Dubai AI Festival \(26\-27 Oct 2026, Dubai World Trade Centre\), the new goal was announced: 1,000 AI companies and 5,000 skilled jobs at Dubai AI Campus by 2030\. The old goal was 500 companies and 3,000 jobs by 2028\. It was reached in 2026\. Why this matters if you are Indian and based in the Gulf \(Indians are the UAE's largest expat community\): a target like this is a demand signal, and it lands on the people who fill these roles\. A few numbers from the coverage of the two days: \- AED 1 billion\+ raised by Campus companies \- 2,000\+ tech jobs created so far \- Scale AI opening its UAE entity at the Campus \- 23 Indian companies in the Bharat Pavilion \(No new India\-UAE agreement was announced at the festival itself\. When we talk about artificial intelligence, we usually focus on companies building AI models, buying expensive GPUs or setting up massive data centres\. But there is another business that could benefit from the AI boom, and that is the business of moving data between these facilities\. This is where Tata Communications sees an opportunity\. Tata Communications provides digital infrastructure and connectivity services to businesses around the world\. Tata Communications now plans to invest ~$450 million in what it calls India’s AI Super Highway\. The project will involve around 10,000 kms of new, AI\-ready fibre infrastructure connecting major data centres and AI hubs across India\. A data centre houses servers and powerful GPUs that process information and run AI applications\. But these machines constantly exchange data with other computers, data centres and customers\. As AI systems become more complex, the amount of information moving between these facilities increases\. The network carrying that information needs enough capacity to handle the traffic, high speeds to transfer data quickly and low delays to keep applications running efficiently\. This is the opportunity Tata Communications is trying to capture\. The rollout will happen in three phases\. The first will connect Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai, which are important locations for data centres and digital infrastructure\. The second phase will extend the network between Chennai, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam\. The third will expand connectivity towards Bhubaneswar and Gujarat, including GIFT City and Jamnagar\. The company says the network will provide high capacity, low latency connections for AI workloads and data centres\. Tata Communications expects demand to move beyond traditional 10\-gigabit and 100\-gigabit connections towards 400 gigabits, 800 gigabits and even terabit\-scale capacity\. Its potential customers include cloud providers, AI platforms, technology companies and AI research laboratories\. Tata Communications estimates that India's data\-centre\-to\-data\-centre connectivity market could exceed $1 billion over the medium term\. The company plans to invest over 3\-5 years, building the network in stages according to expected demand, capacity needs and data\-centre development\. It intends to fund the investment through its operating cash flows\. Tata Communications already operates more than 200,000 kilometres of terrestrial fibre and over 500,000 kilometres of subsea optical fibre\. This existing network could give the company an advantage in connecting Indian data centres with international AI hubs\. The company is also investing in separate subsea cable projects linking Mumbai with Singapore and Chennai with Singapore\. These projects could strengthen international connectivity alongside the proposed AI Super Highway, allowing Tata Communications to serve customers moving data between Indian cities and overseas markets\. 9.
