Summary

Twitter finally has an MCP interface, allowing AI to automatically organize, summarize, and analyze user data. Requires registering for Twitter API and paying per use, but personal information has a lower cost ($0.01 per call). The article details the configuration steps.

Twitter finally has MCP, this is very useful! If you rely on Twitter information like I do, you can have AI automatically organize, summarize, and analyze your data. However, you still need to register for Twitter API and pay as you go. I configured it this morning, and it actually has a pretty big discount for personal information (i.e., your own data): Each call costs $0.01, so $1 gets you 1,000 calls. I pulled the bookmarks from the last three days and only spent $0.10. I made a few diagrams and wrote a brief guide on how to configure it: 1. Create an App and top up: Go to the Twitter developer dashboard to create an app. Note: topping up is mandatory. 2. Get the configuration ID (a) After creating the app, go into the app you created from the sidebar. (b) Fill in and modify the relevant content in the settings. (c) After modification, a popup will show two IDs. These two IDs need to be filled in MCP, so be sure to note them. 3. Auxiliary configuration (a) Send my diagram to Codex or Claude and have them configure it for you. (b) After configuration, ask them to open the configuration file, and you can replace the two IDs. 4. Authorize and start On first launch, you need to open a web page for authorization. If your AI doesn't automatically open the web page, you can remind it.

Twitter finally has MCP, and it’s super useful!

If you’re like me and rely on Twitter for information, you can let AI automatically organize, summarize, and analyze your data for you.

But you still need to register for Twitter’s API and pay based on usage.

I set it up this morning, and for personal information (i.e., your own data), there’s actually a pretty big discount:

Each call costs $0.01, meaning $1 gets you 1000 calls. I pulled my bookmarks from the last three days, and it only cost $0.1.

I threw together a few diagrams and jotted down a quick guide on how to set it up:

  1. Create APP and add funds: Head to the Twitter developer dashboard to create an APP. Note that you must add funds.

  2. Get config IDs
    (a) After creating the APP, click into it from the sidebar.
    (b) Fill out and edit the relevant details in the settings.
    (c) Once edited, the system will pop up with two IDs—these are what you need to enter in MCP, so make sure to jot them down.

  3. Helper config
    (a) Send my diagram pic to Codex or Claude and have them set it up for you.
    (b) Once configured, have them open the config file, and you just swap in those two IDs.

  4. Auth and launch
On first launch, you’ll need to open a webpage for authorization. If your AI doesn’t auto-open it, just give it a nudge.
