Is this obsession with 'building' just an addiction?

It has all the hall marks of one, monkey pulls lever (or prompts in this case) magic thing happens and thing appears which gives a little dopamine hit, the hit is short lived because you haven't really had to work for it, rinse and repeat to chase the next high. I've seen the more AI pilled amongst us plough thousands of dollars of their earnings/savings into tokens to make things that clearly have little to no economic value, they've basically just sunk it into the AI companies and will never see a return. Perhaps there's an element of gamblers fallacy about it as well. I can see "AI building addiction" being recognized as a defacto condition soon, it'll become more of an issue as people plough more and more of their savings into it. There's an element of delusion about it as well from the folk who actually think they need all this shit to 'optimize their life'.
