作者认为 AI agents 将成为新的销售渠道,而 MCP 是接入产品的关键通道,并介绍了一款可将现有 API 快速生成免费托管 MCP 服务器的工具。
very shift in how people buy created a new sales channel: websites, app stores, marketplaces. I think agents are the next one. We already have "SEO for agents" (llms.txt, structured docs) so agents can find your product. But being found isn't the same as being usable. Soon someone will tell their agent "get my team on a project management tool," and the agent will pick the product it can actually talk to: list plans, sign up, pay. CLIs are honestly great for this, in some ways better than MCP. But non-technical people won't touch a CLI, no matter how "for dummies" it is. MCP is different: you paste one URL into Claude or ChatGPT and it just works, on all your devices (desktop, web, phone). No code, no install, nothing to run. That's why I believe in MCP as the tunnel into your app. It works in both directions: customers' agents buying from you, and your own agents running sales and support. The problem is most companies, especially small ones, won't build and host an MCP server themselves (auth, permissions, hosting, audit logs). So I built a tool that does it for free: it connects to your existing API and gives you a hosted MCP server in seconds, on your own domain, with scoped permissions and destructive actions off by default. Curious what you think: Are agents a real sales channel yet, or still years away? Would you let a customer's agent sign up and pay without anyone ever seeing your UI? I'd appreciate all feedback, good or bad :)

A practitioner shares their experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers for business work, detailing which ones provide real read/write capabilities (e.g., Postgres MCP, HubSpot MCP, PostFast) and which disappoint (e.g., Slack MCP, Google Ads MCP), while highlighting major security concerns like low OAuth adoption and high vulnerability rates.
