GPT-6 Astra is making the empty timeline feel like a problem I shouldn’t have to solve anymore.
I can upload raw footage, describe the edit I want, and have Astra control CapCut PC to build the first cut for me — selecting clips, arranging the sequence, adding captions, transitions and audio.
The real efficiency gain is that I’m not spending the first hour just getting the project into shape.
And it doesn’t stop at an AI-generated export. The project stays editable in CapCut PC, with footage and captions organized on separate tracks so I can fine-tune them individually. Edit Pilot can also help with conversational post-editing.
Astra gets me past the repetitive setup.
CapCut PC gives me the freedom to actually edit.
Maybe the best AI editor isn’t the one that finishes the video for you. It’s the one that gets you to the interesting part faster.
