Who flipped over when AI drew a pelican riding a bicycle?
Same request, actual test: Fusion drew the chain, crankset, and pedals all connected properly, while another leading model’s were just floating and disconnected. With revisions, it could even achieve “only change the bird, keep the bike still.”
Recently, a new model called Fusion from a lab in Singapore is pretty interesting—under the premise of solid capabilities, it significantly reduces consumption costs.
I used Opus 5 from Claude Code and FUMO Lab’s Fusion Model to separately generate SVGs of “a pelican riding a bicycle”:
Opus 5 drew the bird with better expression and more completeness, but simplified the bicycle structure, with unclear connection relationships; Fusion’s frame, handlebars, and chain connections were done very completely.
We manually had Opus provide art direction feedback, let Fusion execute it, and explicitly required “only change the bird, keep the bike still.”
Finally, Fusion drew a pelican riding a bike that wouldn’t look out of place even without inputting GPT-5.6-Sol level.
And what surprised me even more is that for the same task, Opus consumed at least $10, but Fusion only cost $1.25.
