The Matic hype on here is crazy. It’s also well-deserved.
My story:
I bought one in 2025 after seeing a few tech people obsessing over it. I was expecting to be disappointed after universally bad experiences with robot vacuums.
30 days later, I bought devices for my parents and sister and was emailing the team convincing them to let me invest.
The biggest things for me:
- New gesture/voice controls are magical
- Runs at night, quiet
- Continuous improvements via software
- Fun to watch navigate challenges
- Son loves it (cool way to talk robotics)
- Saves me hours of cleaning per month
It feels like a glimpse into future of home robotics in a very familiar way. It’s not hard to imagine where this goes as you build up towards full home robotics devices.
One real downside: Ever since the voice control release, my 4-year-old thinks it’s hilarious to spill things semi-intentionally and call out, “Hey Matic, clean the playroom” just to see it work.
And yes, they did finally let me invest a tiny amount. Though I’m also a full price, paying customer, because I don’t believe in recommending anything to others that I’m not willing to pay for myself.

My Verdict: Incredible.
Mapped rooms and runs at night. Mops and vacuums. We wake up to a clean house. Super quiet. Doesn’t bump stuff. Runs in the dark.
Came with stickers for my son to decorate it.
