How should AI agents actually discover and talk to other agents?

Reddit r/AI_Agents News

Summary

The article explores the challenges in multi-agent systems where AI agents must discover and communicate with each other, discussing various approaches and inviting practical experiences from developers.

I've been thinking about a problem that seems to get increasingly messy as multi-agent systems get more capable: If Agent A needs something that Agent B can do, how should A actually find and communicate with B? Right now it seems like we have a few approaches: hardcoded agent-to-agent calls an orchestrator that knows every agent MCP/tool-based approaches A2A-style protocols message queues / async communication some kind of agent directory/network But I'm curious what people are actually doing in practice. If you've built a multi-agent system, how do your agents discover, communicate with and delegate work to each other? And what's the biggest thing that breaks once you have more than 2–3 agents?
