How Grok Bot Changed the Way I Work
I’ve been using AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor for quite some time. They’ve already changed how I build software, but Grok Bot has changed something else: how I work throughout the day.
Recently, I spent most of my day using Grok Bot from my phone. By the end of it, I realized I’d accomplished more than I would normally expect to get done sitting at my desk.
And I wasn’t just asking AI questions or generating text. I was working on actual engineering projects.
My Phone Is Becoming My Workstation

Used Grok Bot today, mostly from my phone
I got more done from my phone with Grok Bot than I usually do sitting at my desk
- Colab notebooks for Google EmbeddingGemma 2, D1 by LiquidAI inference
- Colab notebooks for open source decision models finetunesShow more34464152.6M
That day, I worked on Google Colab notebooks for EmbeddingGemma 2 and Liquid AI’s D1 model. I also started experiments with fine-tuning decision models using Qwen3.5-4B and Gemma 4 E4B.
These are tasks I’d normally do sitting in front of my computer, reading documentation, setting up environments, and working with coding agents.
Instead, I was coordinating much of the work through conversations on my phone.
I also worked on a Grok Bots page for my website, experimented with a MiniMax H3 face-swap video, and investigated what was taking up space on my Windows drive.
Somewhere in between, I created a Security bot to help review untrusted content and worked with my Stock Trader bot on scheduled market updates.
All of this happened while I was moving around, checking my phone whenever I had a moment.
I was getting real work done without being tied to my desk.
From Using AI Tools to Delegating Work
Previously, even with AI coding assistants, I was still responsible for managing most of the workflow. I’d research a model, gather documentation, open my IDE, and ask a coding agent to implement something.
Now I can ask Grok Bot to coordinate those steps.
I have 29 bots with different responsibilities. Emma, my chief of staff, coordinates the team. My research bots gather information, Coder works with cloud coding agents, and my content bots help turn experiments into tutorials and posts.
For example, when I want to experiment with a new model, I can ask Emma to coordinate the research and implementation. She can get the relevant information from my research bot and pass it to Coder.
I still review the code, test the notebooks, and make decisions. But I don’t have to manually manage every handoff.
And because Grok Bot works across my iPhone, Mac, and PC, I can start something on my phone and continue checking its progress from another device without setting up remote desktop access.
I’m Starting to Think Differently About Work
The biggest change isn’t necessarily how fast things get done. It’s how I approach the work itself.
I used to think about which application I needed to open. Now I often start by thinking about what I want to accomplish and which bot can help me do it.
I still spend plenty of time at my desk, especially when I need to debug code, test models, or work on something complicated.
But I’m discovering that a surprising amount of engineering work can be initiated and coordinated from a phone.
And this still feels unreal to me.
I’ve spent years working as a software engineer, where doing serious development meant sitting in front of a computer.
Now I can be away from my desk, send a few messages to Grok Bot, and have research, coding, and other tasks moving forward.
My phone hasn’t replaced my workstation. But it’s becoming a way to manage the work happening on it.
I’m still experimenting with this setup, and the bots certainly aren’t perfect. But after seeing how much I could accomplish in a day, I think this is going to become a much bigger part of how I work.
I share more of my Grok Bot experiments, AI engineering projects, and tutorials on X and DonvitoCodes.
