Many people report that domestic software detects their VPN usage. It’s likely that your DNS settings are leaking your real IP.

A few simple steps can make your VPN disguise much stronger, even fooling domestic banking apps while using VPN.

I’m using iOS Shadowrocket as an example.

Path 1: Step 1 Setup (mentioned in text)

1. Open Shadowrocket, tap the bottom-right Settings icon.
2. Go to Proxy → tap Proxy Type.
3. Select and change it to None (this forces the deeper TUN gaming mode).

Path 2: Step 2 Setup (corresponds to the red-circled areas in the image)

1. Tap the Config tab in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Find the currently active local configuration file (usually with a checkmark), tap the “ i “ icon on its right.
3. Tap General, then adjust the following three options as shown in the image:

• Private IP Response: Status: ON (toggle to blue).
• DNS Override: Add the following two IPs: 1.1.1.1 1.0.0.1
• Fallback DNS (uses encrypted DoH servers): Add the following two URLs: https://1.1.1.1/dns-query http://dns.google/dns-query
