Tesla is ramping up production lines of optimus.
It’s been quiet around Optimus for some time. Probably for good reasons. In its latest proxy statement, employee equity awards are now directly tied to the factory roll out of Optimus.
As spotted on the new roadster, the Optimus actuators are production ready, they are already controlling aero surfaces on the hypercar, as well as valves on the COPV tanks.
What has been clear since day one, and hopefully not missed on anyone is that Optimus is a walking FSD car.
Using the knowledge in making a 4 wheeled (car) robot drive on its own, will be paramount for making Optimus generalise and roam freely in the world to.
The packaging makes all the sense in the world.
Stack: Battery tech → Tesla deeptech (core drivetrain) Actuators → Optimus driven (Tesla, SpaceX derived) World awareness → Tesla FSD (vision only) Cognitive brain → Grok Bot (Cursor)
Making sure that employees are incentives to push for the next transition internally is all the signal we need on Optimus, and I’m expecting more public updates soon.
Ming (@tslaming): STRONG SIGNAL 🤖 Tesla’s latest filing reveals the ultimate skin in the game: key employee equity awards are now explicitly tied to the factory rollout of Optimus 🔥
Tucked inside the October 19 proxy statement is a clear signal that Tesla is moving well beyond lab experiments.
