We already know OpenAI finished training Astra, a new model reportedly beyond Sol-class capabilities.
What blows my mind is that they may have trained the generation after Astra too.
“mewfour” could mean something like Multimodal Experimental World-model 4, or simply the fourth checkpoint in a new model family. Either way, OpenAI may be a full generation ahead of what the public is currently discussing.
M1 (@M1Astra): ‘mewfour’ is already in testing as of this week. Based on what I hear, it’s a checkpoint of OpenAI’s next model.
