so does this digital fly have the memory of the real fly that was scanned or what
evnsnclr (@evnsnclr): I’ve successfully run the full retained MaleCNS v1.0 fruit fly connectome, all 166,700 neurons, inside Minecraft, with its simulated neural activity driving a fly’s movement.
V1 Currently in development. Built with the help of GPT-6 Astra.

I tried to make a real fly connectome learn to play Pong. It didn't — and auditing why turned out to be way more interesting than if it had worked [p]
The author attempted to use the MaleCNS v1.0 fly connectome to play Pong, but it failed to learn. Auditing the failure revealed critical issues with circuit connectivity and highlighted shortcomings in viral AI projects like Doom, Minecraft, and Beat Saber mods.
Researchers connected a simulated fruit fly brain to Odyssey-3, an AI that generates entire virtual worlds. The fly is now navigating these imagined environments completely on its own. A biological brain recreated in software is exploring worlds that have never existed.
