Claude Code lead @trq212 just said that the community-discovered detection targeting Chinese users will be removed as soon as possible.
This was an experiment they launched in March, aimed at preventing unauthorized resellers from abusing accounts and guarding against distillation.
The team has since implemented stronger mitigations, and he said they were actually planning to take it down for a while (yeah, right).
It’s expected to be fully rolled back in tomorrow’s release.
If it hadn’t been discovered, would it really have been rolled back?
