AI and Jobs

Summary

A skeptical discussion post questioning the claim that AI will create more jobs than it displaces, arguing that historical precedent shows new technology does not generate enough employment for an entire population and that many projected new roles are low-paying service jobs.

I have an honest question. AI boosters, constantly say that AI will not destroy jobs. It will create more. My question revolves around the idea that even right now, we have a significant amount of people of are not working. Why in the future would someone assume that all these jobs will be created for people, that will benefit society. There is no historical situation where having better technology creates enough jobs for an entire area. Why would it happen this time? Also some of the jobs people say will be created are wellness or rich service jobs. I can assure you that there is a large portion of society that will not or can not work in those jobs. Those jobs also tend to pay less than the careers people are already in. I would love to think the job situation will get better but from a logical point of view, I just do not see it
