Mixed feelings about this.
A $500 Pro Max plan is fine if the $100 and $200 plans keep their current rate limits, models and perks. More options aren’t a bad thing.
But if OpenAI starts locking genuinely better models or things like Cerebras-powered inference behind $500/month, that would suck. At that point money isn’t buying more usage, it’s buying access to better AI.
And that’s a pretty huge advantage to reserve for people who can casually spend $6,000 a year on ChatGPT.
