Anjney is a super humble guy and is sharing some hard facts. The job of a VC or institutional investor is to read, learn and understand where the world is heading, and understand the underlying technology (at least on a high level). Most investors say No because they don´t understand and are too comfortable to understand. That´s when it´s time to move on. John Doerr took Anjney under his wings at @kleinerperkins right after his studies at Stanford and one of his first assignments in 2014 was to figure out if Truecaller was the right investment for Kleiner. Anjney jumped on a plane immeditely and went to India and did a due diligence on the ground. That´s the dedication he puts into his work. I´m super proud and happy to see all the success he has achieved in a very short period of time PS. Yes, they invested in Truecaller in 2014.
