Local AI models are often disconnected from the webpages you need to read, question, and work with.
Page Assist is an open-source browser extension that provides a sidebar and web UI for interacting with a local AI model from any webpage.
The extension opens a sidebar through a context menu or keyboard shortcut, while its Web UI opens in a new tab from the extension icon.
Key features: • Open a model-powered sidebar on any webpage with Ctrl+Shift+Y. • Chat with the current webpage and ask questions about its content. • Use a separate Web UI that works like a ChatGPT website and opens with Ctrl+Shift+L. • Run with Ollama, Chrome AI (Gemini Nano), or OpenAI API-compatible endpoints such as LM Studio and llamafile. • Keep data in browser storage; server communication occurs only when using the share feature, which can be disabled in settings.
Page Assist is licensed under the MIT License.
