Building an AI agent shouldn’t mean wiring every model, tool, memory system, and interface from scratch.
elizaOS is an open-source, local-first operating system and runtime for AI agents, built for developers creating assistants and agent-powered apps.
It helps you build and run agents by combining a model-agnostic runtime, plugin architecture, app interface, and CLI in one monorepo.
Key features: • Model-agnostic runtime – works with hosted providers and local Eliza-1 models. • Plugin primitives – add actions, providers, services, and evaluators. • Multi-surface assistant – covers chat, voice, documents, browser use, and automations. • Local-first execution – can keep the agent, data, and models on your device. • Builder tooling – includes a CLI, API and dashboard host, examples, and evaluation suites.
It’s open-source (MIT license).
