Artificial intelligence has the potential to reshape society for good. But recent hacks have made it all too clear that we need protections in place to make sure AI is working for us, not the other way around.
Instead of trusting Big Tech CEOs to self-police, we need independent experts to come up with guardrails to ensure AI development protects our privacy, creates new jobs rather than cuts them, and improves the lives of working families. I’m working on a bill with Senator Bennet to do just that.
This should be a bipartisan effort. AI will impact everyone in every state. Republicans and Democrats both have constituents who could be harmed by irresponsible AI development, and we should work together to protect them.
