Sharing an open-source project: OpenKnowledge You can think of it as an open-source implementation of Obsidian + LLM Wiki in practice. Since large language models became popular, the markdown-based note-taking app Obsidian has gained increasing traction; and with the spread of the LLM Wiki concept, personal knowledge bases have also been pushed into the spotlight. I've been experimenting with personal knowledge bases recently, but I haven't found a particularly suitable solution. I've been using Obsidian for years, and my content has become increasingly cluttered. I also tried using LLM Wiki for "automatic organization," but the results were less than ideal. If you're planning to build a new knowledge base from scratch, OpenKnowledge is worth a try: clean interface, feature-rich, local-first, and privacy-secure. More importantly, it comes with MCP, Skills, Chat, and TUI built in, allowing you to directly invoke a code agent to process content—no need to rely on plugins as heavily as Obsidian does. It also natively supports Git sync, making multi-device usage much easier. In fact, you can use it alongside Obsidian. Obsidian's web clipper browser extension is very handy—use it to collect web content into your knowledge base, then further organize it with OpenKnowledge and leverage its agent capabilities.
