Do you have any idea how insanely difficult this was to shoot? They did an amazing job. They trained for this for years, and exceeded expectations.

There’s so many gems in there, but many are underexposed thanks to the crazy lighting conditions.

The requests aren’t manually approved, it’s an automatic system

They have to be individually requested on a per-image basis, probably to prevent data scraping

How can we reliably determine if it’s an odd internal reflection/refraction of sunlight in the window or camera lens vs. something actually on the lunar surface (a transient lunar phenomenon) vs. something between the spacecraft and the lunar surface?

Indeed! They also smartly bracketed their shots so they don’t have to constantly adjust as these conditions shifted.
