Editor’s note (August 6, 2026): We have temporarily paused the roll-out of Kimi K3 while we mitigate an incident with GitHub Actions. We will resume the roll-out as soon as possible and update docs with Kimi K3 pricing, which will be $3 per 1M input tokens, $15 per 1M output tokens, and $0.30 per 1M cached input tokens.

Kimi K3, an open-weight model, is now generally available in GitHub Copilot. The model shows frontier-level abilities on agentic coding with highly cost-effective pricing.

Kimi K3 is hosted by GitHub on Fireworks AI.

This model is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. SeeGitHub Copilot’s pricing for models and requestsfor details.

Availability in GitHub Copilot

Kimi K3 is beginning to roll out to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans. You’ll be able to select the model in the model picker in:

Enabling access for Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise

Kimi K3 isoff by defaultfor Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise. Plan administrators must enable the Kimi K3 policy in Copilot settings before anyone in their organization can select it. If the policy is left off, the model stays unavailable to that organization.

We recommend administrators review open-weight models against their own security, compliance, and data-governance requirements before enabling them.
