Storm Summoner — MIDI controller
## From the floor to the desk
The most exciting instruments of this decade are being sold as pedals: stereo, programmable, and increasingly skipping stomp switches altogether\.
Storm Summoner is how you play them\.
> “The Storm Summoner is beautiful\! So far I am very impressed\! And got much more than I expected\.”
Casey NVan Nuys, CA> “Storm Summoner arrived safe & sound today\. I love its zippered case, walnut enclosure, illumination, and its screen — nice bit of kit, this\.”
Brian RMinneapolis, MN

- Capacitive interface:Sweep the wheel, tap the buttons — and remap all of it, scene by scene, 128 times over\.
- Modulation heaven:2 LFOs, S\+H, X/Y tilt\. Wave your hand to open a filter or flash a light to duck compression\.
- Sixth sense:A sensor detects proximity and ambient light\. Assign either to any parameter\.
- Master time:Generate BPM internally, tap it in, sync from MIDI or patch to your analog sequencer\.
- Flexible integration:Route an expression pedal to CC, pass MIDI from a DAW, even translate CV\.
Left to right: CV \(⅛″ TS\) · expression \(¼″ TRS\) · MIDI out \(¼″ TRS\) · USB\-C · MIDI in \(⅛″ TRS\) · 9 V power- Polarity, handled:Type A, Type B, even TS: the pedal database knows how every pedal is wired and configures the jack to match\. No "MIDI box" required\.
- More than a CC list:The database knows whether a parameter sweeps 0–127, snaps between named values, or fires one\-shot actions — even when a pedal reuses a CC for different jobs depending on its mode\.
- Sequenced effects:40\+ assignable actions allow beat\-sync’d looping, parameter morphing, randomization and more\.
- Obsessively current:New pedals often land in the database the day they’re announced\.
- Universal mounting:Tripod thread allows setup anywhere: mic stands, drum kits or mixing desks\.
- In the box:Storm Summoner, ¼" to ⅛" TRS adapter, ⅛" to 5\-pin DIN adapter, silicone anti\-slip sticker, tripod\-to\-mic\-stand adapter, optimism\.
- Protect ya neck:A sturdy custom\-molded hard shell travel case comes standard\.
- Reliable power:Center\-negative 9V barrel or galvanically isolated USB — laptop power without laptop hum\.
- No smartphone apps:Browser\-based configuration and drag\-and\-drop firmware updates over WebUSB\.
- Open source:MIT\-licensed firmware\. Inspect it, fork it, or improve it on[GitHub](https://github.com/kabaragoya-loves-you/storm-summoner/)\.
- Go wireless:Connect a[Sky Bridge](https://kabaragoya.com/products/sky-bridge)and control your pedals wirelessly\. Sky Bridge can provide power to Storm Summoner as well\.
Open by design
## The firmware is yours\.
Storm Summoner's firmware is built in public and licensed under MIT\. Inspect it, fork it, fix it, or teach your instrument something new\. There is no black box between you and the hardware you own\.
The pedal database is open too\. Device definitions live in their own repository, so support for new pedals can grow without waiting for a firmware release\.

Will my pedals work with Storm Summoner? If your pedal speaks MIDI, yes\. The pedal database knows how each pedal is wired, so TRS Type A/B polarity is handled for you, and the box includes adapters for ⅛\-inch TRS, 5\-pin DIN, and a tripod\-to\-mic\-stand mount\. The database covers the major MIDI\-enabled pedals, so the manual can stay in the drawer where it belongs\.
What if my pedal isn't in the database yet?The database is updated frequently, and you can always map any MIDI\-enabled pedal manually in the meantime\. If you'd like a pedal added, send us its manual or CC table\. And if you*make*pedals: we'd love to have yours supported on your launch day — see[for pedal brands](https://kabaragoya.com/pages/for-brands)\.
Does Storm Summoner make sound on its own?No — and that's the point\. It's a controller: it makes the gear you already own do more\. Sweep a filter with a finger, morph two parameters at once, switch your whole rig between songs\. The tutorial videos above show what that looks like in practice\.
When will mine ship?Storm Summoner is made to order\. Every enclosure is cut, finished and assembled by hand in Toronto, and units ship in the exact order they were purchased\. When the queue is short, that means days; after a busy stretch, it can mean a few weeks\. You'll get a tracking number the moment yours leaves the bench\.
How do firmware updates work?Open the[configuration tool](https://ss.kabaragoya.com/)in any Chromium browser \(Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc\), connect via USB, and the firmware updates over WebUSB in under a minute\. No mobile apps\. No subscriptions\. The[firmware is open source on GitHub](https://github.com/kabaragoya-loves-you/storm-summoner/)\.
Do you ship internationally?Yes\. Orders leave Toronto via Canada Post\. For the full story — carriers I will and will not use, and why US shipping includes an extra 10% — see the[shipping FAQ](https://kabaragoya.com/pages/shipping)\.
