Recommends two free stock research tools: Stock Analysis and Finviz, and explains how to combine them to screen and analyze US stock individual stocks.

The best free tool I've used for researching individual stocks is @stock_analysisx. Hardly anyone in the Chinese community mentions it. This is a website specifically for researching single stocks. Financial reports, analyst forecasts, and business data are all organized together, and the UI is quite pleasant. @finviz_com is great for screening stocks: set your criteria and pick from thousands of US stocks that meet them. Stock Analysis is great for research: pick a stock and study it thoroughly. Using them together yields better results. You can see how much money the company makes from each product and each region. For example, $AAPL shows you exactly how much iPhone, Services, and Greater China contribute. (See Figure 3) You can see the target prices and buy/sell recommendations from each investment bank, not just an average score, along with their predictions for future years' performance. There is a ready-made financial health score that helps you quickly assess the probability of bankruptcy or major issues. The financial statements cover the last 5 years. How to use it: First, set criteria in Finviz (sector, market cap, valuation, earnings growth, etc.) to screen a list of stocks. Then, search each one in Stock Analysis and focus on five things: · Are revenue and profit growing every year? · Which business segment is driving the growth? · What do analysts think? · Is there any risk of a sudden collapse? · What is the valuation like? After going through them, keep a few from the initial list that are worth following up on. This can save a lot of time and attention.

The best free tool I’ve used for researching individual stocks is @stock_analysisx, though it’s still rarely mentioned in Chinese circles.

It’s a website specifically designed for researching single stocks. Financial reports, analyst forecasts, and business data are all organized together, and the UI is quite pleasant to look at.

@finviz_com is great for screening stocks — set your criteria and pick the ones that match from thousands of US stocks. Stock Analysis excels at research — pick one stock and dig deep into it. Using them together gives the best results.

You can see how much money each product and each region makes for a company. For example, with $AAPL, you can see at a glance how much comes from iPhones, services, and Greater China. (See Figure 3)

It shows the target price and buy/sell recommendation from each individual investment bank, not just an average score, along with their forecasts for the company’s performance in coming years.

There’s a ready-made financial health score that helps you quickly assess the probability of bankruptcy or negative surprises. The financial reports cover the last 5 years of data.

How to use it:

First, set your filters on Finviz (sector, market cap, valuation, earnings growth, etc.) to screen a batch of stocks. Then search each one on Stock Analysis, focusing on five things:

· Are revenue and profits growing year over year? · Which business segment is driving the growth? · What do analysts think? · Is there any risk of a blow-up? · How is the valuation?

After going through them, you’ll be left with a few stocks from the initial batch worth following further — it saves a lot of time and attention.
