Astronomers led by Andrea Bernardi confirmed Elias 2-24b as the youngest directly imaged exoplanet ever found, orbiting a star less than 1 million years old and challenging standard planet-formation models such as core accretion.
A University of Bern team developed a machine-learning algorithm trained on tens of thousands of simulated planetary systems that identified 44 known star systems which may host undiscovered Earth-like planets, with up to 99% precision on simulated data but still awaiting telescope confirmation.
