The Vesuvius Challenge awarded a $50K First Letters Prize after Liam Warner and Nicola Bodill recovered readable ancient text from PHerc. 306B, marking the first time writing has been seen on this scroll in 2000 years. Their ink-identification work also determined that 306B is the upper section of the scroll, making it a prime candidate for virtual unrolling.
