Interesting. SpaceX doing AI feels like the sequel to Peter Thiel introducing Elon and Demis in 2012.
If AI becomes the dominant layer of coordination, prediction, design, logistics, science, and warfare, then Mars is not outside the problem; it is just another environment the system can model, enter, and optimize.
SpaceX touching AI therefore does not feel like a random expansion into the fashion of the moment. It looks like a defensive necessity inside Musk’s own worldview, because building the transport layer of civilization is incomplete if another intelligence owns the decision layer above it.
