Why do the mods forbid to mention better alternatives to OpenClaw?

Reddit r/openclaw News

Summary

A user criticizes the OpenClaw community for banning mentions of alternative AI agents, arguing it stifles free speech and hides legitimate concerns about OpenClaw's development.

I understand that some people get frustrated when problems arise with OpenClaw, and that the first response is often: “Switch to XYZ Agent.” But how is it that we’re not even allowed to mention the word “Her“ and „mes” here anymore? Is OpenClaw that afraid of competition? Is there really a paid conspiracy to promote alternatives, since the rules are talking about illegal “promotion” when trying to post a comment? No, naming and recommending other agents is not “promotion“, its called free speech. The word “Google” isn’t blocked in the Apple subreddit either. If people simply find other agents better than OpenClaw, which has serious development issues, that’s okay. But honestly, I find this restriction here very gatekeeping and a bit embarrassing, ngl.
