Tesla estimates that only 45 percent of the recalled Model Y vehicles are actually missing the sticker\. The recall report also notes that Tesla has fixed the automated scanning tool that caused the issue and its production teams have begun manually checking that vehicles have the sticker in the factory\.
Unlike most Tesla recalls that are simply fixed remotely, drivers will need to physically bring their Model Ys in for an inspection to check for the sticker and add one if needed\.
