Five years ago, I posted a job listing on V2EX and got absolutely roasted. One person thought the criticisms were so ridiculous that he sent in his resume just to verify if this company actually existed… and now we’ve happily worked together for five years.
Fenng (@Fenng): One of the inherent disadvantages of being a small company like ours is that hiring has always been difficult. That makes sense, because small companies lack brand recognition, while big companies have a clear advantage in that area. When we were looking for office space, even the property manager looked down on us—like, “You, this little scrappy company, want to rent space in our premium office building and still make demands?” Later, I noticed the building was full of all sorts of shady businesses, including places offering moxibustion therapy, filling the air with smoke all day.
