I Reviewed the latest AI Implementation Reports

Summary

A consultant compares conflicting 2026 enterprise AI implementation reports (Digital Applied, G2, Deloitte, Belitsoft, Thomson Reuters) and highlights the wide gap between AI agents announced or piloted versus those actually reaching production, questioning how mature enterprise AI transformation really is.

I have a consulting firm specialized in AI Implementations so I was building a consolidated report of AI Implementation findings to share with my clients. What shocked me is how different some of the data in these reports are: Digital Applied's 2026 compilation says only 31% of enterprises have at least one agent in production. G2 says nearly 60% of organizations already have AI agents in production. Deloitte's State of AI in the Enterprise 2026 says 74% plan to deploy agentic AI within two years, only 21% report a mature governance model, and 84% have not redesigned jobs around AI. Only 25% have moved 40% or more of their experiments into production. Digital Applied says 88% of pilots never reach production. Banking and insurance sit at a 47% production rate. Manufacturing sits at 27%. Belitsoft's 2026 report says enterprises run 12 AI agents on average, half of them work alone, and only 11% of the agentic use cases intended the prior year reached production, even though 71% of businesses say they deploy AI agents. Thomson Reuters' 2026 professional services report says 40% of professionals report that their organizations use generative AI, 15% already use agentic AI, and 53% are planning or considering it. More than 95% were comfortable trusting AI with basic administrative tasks. I personally feel that the company can have the tool, the budget, and a slide that says the agent is live, while the job is still the spreadsheet and the chat, so it is hard to trust any of these findings. In your experience, where are we with AI Transformation? Are most Enterprise companies here in the US already adopted? Or is this still super early and we are just scratching the surface?
