Given $5 and over 7,000 US stocks, what would you buy?
I originally thought people would diversify, but the actual holdings data shows a clear trend: The tech sector accounts for about 71% of direct holdings, with semiconductor-related assets making up roughly 48%.
Many people choose individual stocks like $NVDA, $AVGO, $TSM, $MU, $AMD, while others prefer ETFs like $QQQ and $SMH.
What’s more interesting is that on the @binancezh platform, this trend is equally evident. Binance’s US stock trading went live just 30 days ago, and assets under management have already surpassed $1 billion, with cumulative trading volume exceeding $3 billion.
About 73% of users come from emerging markets. Among the nearly 740 stocks and ETFs that have been traded, the trading volume in the tech sector is 23 times that of other sectors!
In the past, many people faced various barriers when trying to invest in US stocks. Now, with a minimum of just $5, the pent-up demand is rapidly being unleashed.
According to Binance Research, only about 11% of adults globally have a brokerage account. They predict that by 2031, crypto exchanges could bring 300 million new investors to global stock markets and introduce about $2 trillion in incremental capital.
This means that in the future, more and more people’s first US stock investment may no longer be limited to traditional brokerages. For those who don’t want to bet on individual stocks, I would prefer to participate through ETFs like QQQ and SMH.
How are you allocating? Feel free to share in the comments.
