It is designed for web and app development, coding, and longer-horizon agentic tasks. It has configurable reasoning effort and support for parallel tool use across complex workflows. In early testing, Gemini 3.6 Flash demonstrated higher task-completion rates and better token efficiency than Gemini 3.5 Flash across coding and agentic workflows.
This model is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. SeeGitHub Copilot’s pricing for models and requestsfor details.
Availability in GitHub Copilot
Gemini 3.6 Flash will be available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise users.
You’ll be able to select the model in the model picker in:
- Visual Studio Code
- Visual Studio
- Copilot CLI
- GitHub Copilot cloud agent
- GitHub Copilot app
- JetBrains
- Xcode
- Eclipse
Rollout will be gradual. Check back soon if you don’t see it yet.
Enabling access
Copilot Enterprise and Copilot Business plan administrators must enable the Gemini 3.6 Flash Preview policy in Copilot settings before anyone in their organization can select it.
