From a reimagined Android ecosystem and a proactive Chrome browser to the high-velocity intelligence of Gemini 3.5 Flash, we are giving developers the tools to build a web and mobile world that works autonomously for the user.

The agentic frontier

• Gemini 3.5 Flashhas arrived as the ecosystem’s new high-velocity engine, clocking in at four times the speed of its predecessors to turn “thinking” into “doing” at a breakneck pace.
• Google Antigravity is expanding, including a new standalone desktop application as a centralized home to manage agents, a CLI for developers who like a stay in the terminal and an SDK to build agents and deploy on their own infrastructure.
• Managed agentsare taking the friction out of the Gemini API, giving you the power to summon AI agents that can reason, use tools, and write code inside its own private Linux sandbox with just one call.
• Google AI Studio is breaking out of the browser with amobile appfor vibe coding on the fly, plus a direct-to-Play-Store pipeline that lets you turn a sudden spark of genius into a testable app with just a click.
• Google is putting its money where its mouth is with a$2 million XPRIZE Hackathon, challenging the world’s developers to use these new agentic tools to tackle massive global headaches like food waste and scientific breakthroughs.

The Android evolution

• The Android CLI is now stable, allowing AI agents like Claude Code or Google Antigravity 2.0 to perform complex developer tasks. For the first time, agents can programmatically trigger heavy lifting Android Studio commands to resolve symbols, analyze code warnings, and render Jetpack Compose previews.
• Developers and creators can nowbuild native Android apps, simply with a prompt in Google AI Studio. The apps leverage our recommended developer patterns, and are built with Jetpack Compose and Kotlin. Developers can prototype, iterate via an embedded emulator, and deploy to physical devices without heavy local installations. Developers are then able to share their apps to Android devices, and with others for testing through Google Play Console’s internal testing track.
• A new Migration Assistant in Android Studio uses AI to port apps from iOS, React Native, or web frameworks to native Android in hours rather than weeks. The tool intelligently maps features, converts assets like storyboards, and implements code using Jetpack Compose best practices.
• Google has officially moved Views into maintenance mode, making Jetpack Compose the standard for all future development. This includes a unified widget strategy via Jetpack Glance, which allows developers to build a single UI component that scales across mobile, Wear OS, and Android Auto.

Chrome: The launchpad for the agentic web

• Your website is evolving from a static destination into a functional toolkit for AI agents through WebMCP, a new proposed standard that allows agents to interact directly with site functions to complete complex workflows, like building personalized itineraries, with surgical precision.
• Chrome 148 is integrating Gemini Nano and Gemma models directly into the browser, enabling you to deploy sophisticated AI features locally on-device and bypass the infrastructure costs or latency typically associated with server-side processing.
• The visual gap between web and native applications is closing with the HTML-in-Canvas API, which allows you to nest live, accessible web elements within immersive 3D environments to create high-performance interfaces that feel incredibly fluid.
• This June, Chrome on Android transforms into a proactive personal assistant that can synthesize long-form content or bridge the gap between the web and your workspace by surfacing relevant details from your Gmail and Calendar as you browse.
• The rollout of “auto browse” across mobile and desktop surfaces aims to eliminate digital friction by allowing Gemini to handle repetitive multi-step tasks, such as securing event parking or managing appointments, on your behalf.

Google Cloud: powering the agentic enterprise

• Builders can now instantly deploy custom agents that reason, use tools, and execute code within secure, Google-hosted environments using a single API call, removing the infrastructure friction of managing remote sandboxes.
• The new Gemini 3.5 Flash model is co-designed with Google’s eighth-generation TPUs to deliver frontier intelligence at high velocity, outperforming 3.1 Pro on complex, long-horizon tasks while remaining cost-effective for production-scale agents.
• The Antigravity agent-first development platform is now fully integrated with the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, allowing organization-wide workflows to inherit Google Cloud’s strict data privacy, security, and compliance standards by default.
• CodeMender has launched as a specialized AI security agent that autonomously scans cloud-hosted codebases for vulnerabilities, recommends precise patches, and can apply fixes across dependent systems with developer approval.
• Gemini Spark serves as a 24/7 autonomous agent operating within a secure, managed runtime to execute multi-step workflows across Workspace and third-party connectors like Salesforce and ServiceNow while ensuring strict data isolation.
