This paper demonstrates that dry glove contact with nitrile and latex gloves can cause over 2000 false positives per mm² in microplastic detection via spectroscopic methods, and recommends nitrile cleanroom gloves as a better alternative, along with workflows to distinguish microplastics from stearate contamination.
