This premium, step\-through longtail is a slightly less insane take on[Rivian’s Also TM\-B](https://www.theverge.com/transportation/829860/rivian-also-tmb-ebike-hands-on-software), with one major advantage: it’s one of the first electric bikes to feature a[semi\-solid state battery](https://www.theverge.com/column/948594/solid-state-batteries-semi-solid-state)\. Semi\-solid state batteries are far safer than traditional lithium\-ion batteries\. Their gel\-like composition offers improved energy density, with far less risk of thermal runaway\. That translates to improved range and longevity from a more compact battery that’s unlikely to catch fire when left charging overnight in your house or business\. The semi\-solid state electrolyte even remains stable when punctured in a crash\. The Lemmo 3 is fitted with a massive 960Wh battery promising up to 180km \(110 miles\) of range\. And by going with a semi\-solid state chemistry, the company claims the battery is 20 percent smaller and lighter while still offering 30 percent longer lifespan\. The removable battery can also power your AC appliances \(up to 1000W\) and USB\-C devices \(up to 66W\) once you arrive at your destination,[similar to Cake’s now\-defunct Osa](https://www.theverge.com/23074615/cake-osa-review-electric-scooter-motorcycle-moped)\. [![The Lemmo 3 battery plugged into Lemmo’s optional V2L Discharge Inverter that costs an extra €169.](https://platform.theverge.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/10/power-station.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&crop=0%2C0%2C100%2C100&w=2400)](https://platform.theverge.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/10/power-station.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&crop=0,0,100,100) The Lemmo 3 is being marketed as an eSUV just like the[Amflow TL Carbon I reviewed](https://www.theverge.com/transportation/999785/amflow-tl-review-avinox-esuv-e-bike-avinox)\. But this very heavy full suspension cargo bike will feel more comfortable on daily commutes to daycare, work, and stores than weekend single tracks\. The bike weighs 39kg \(86 pounds\) with the 5kg \(11 pound\) battery installed\. Instead of doing something proprietary, Lemmo made its longtail compatible with MIK HD accessories\. These include a wide variety of child seats, bags, and boxes that can be mounted on the rear rack\. It can handle a 200kg \(441lb\) total load, with 80kg \(176lbs\) supported in the rear and 20kg \(44lbs\) on the front rack\. A quick\-adjust saddle and handlebar makes the Lemmo 3 easily shareable, supporting riders from 155cm \(5 feet 1 inch\) to 195cm \(6 feet 5 inches\)\. The bike is fitted with wide tires on a 24\-inch front wheel paired with a smaller 20\-inch wheel in the back\. Powering this beast is a rear\-hub motor \(750W in the US, 500W Canada, 250W for Europe\)\. It can deliver up to 90Nm of torque to get heavy loads rolling or to help surmount hills\. Naturally, there’s AI baked in as well\. The motor and e\-derailleur combine data from a variety of sensors to “feed an adaptive Al model that selects the optimal gear in real time, creating a natural, responsive, and effortless ride\.” That sounds expensive to fix when the drivetrain eventually needs servicing\. The motor can also be paired with a 3\-speed auto\-shifting gearbox and belt drive for flatter environments\. Other features include fully integrated lighting \(with turn signals and brake lights\), a 3\.5\-inch touch screen, a USB\-C port to charge your phone, OTA updates, rear\-facing radar to alert you of approaching vehicles, and hydraulic brakes that apply stopping power to both wheels simultaneously when pulling just one brake lever\. Security features include embedded frame and battery locks and GPS / LTE tracking\. The Lemmo 3 already has a[teaser page up on Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lemmothree/lemmo-three-an-intelligent-all-purpose-vehicle-for-life)that says “launching soon” for the EU, UK, US, and Canada\. You can[reserve it now](https://shop.app/checkout/57497485373/cn/hWNHShh6S6heOwBYP8i5kTyg/en-nl/shoppay?_mcs=3.AMPS&_r=AQABBCE2uLzangs6acoY1eyK7-00w8eVxmiQtIwK_f--GSPaZaGG&cart_link_id=Qrf4arYS&redirect_source=checkout_universal_redirect&tracking_unique=74613951-bcc2-4260-af55-e180b687e0af&tracking_visit=a92fec91-b101-42b9-9fb2-b7971686fadb&_cs=3S.amp)for a refundable deposit of €39\.90, which locks you into tax\-*exclusive*pricing of €1,890 \(or about $2,155\)\. The company says retail pricing will climb well beyond €3,390 \(over $3,800\)\. Lemmo is targeting first deliveries for April 2027\. **Follow topics and authors**from this story to see more like this in your personalized homepage feed and to receive email updates\. - Thomas Ricker
