Clips of what appears to be*Grand Theft Auto VI*have hit the internet, possibly spoiling aspects of the game ahead of Rockstar Games’ deep dive debuting on Netflix next week and its long\-awaited launch in November\.
I’ve seen three clips seemingly showing off the game, though two have been pulled from the site I saw them on “due to a copyright claim\.” The first clip \(now removed\) was a quiet scene that mostly focused on Jason Duval, one the game’s two protagonists, shooting a basketball into a hoop\. Another clip \(also removed\) featured more of the crime\-focused gameplay you’d expect from*GTA*, including Duval hitting a person with a wrench, and also showed the return of a six\-star Wanted system\.
A third clip, which is live as I write this, shows Duval driving at night, punching some people, using a taser, and stealing a truck\. The clip then jumps to what looks like a cutscene from a different part of the game in the daytime\.
The videos were watermarked by a person or group identifying themselves as “CyberLeek\.” The third clip has a call for viewers to buy a CyberLeek cryptocurrency, a QR code, links to some sketchy\-looking CyberLeek URLs, and a statement that says “NO PHYSICAL DISCS? THEN MORE LEEKS\!”, which is seemingly a reference to Rockstar’s decision[not to launch*GTA VI*on a physical disc](https://www.theverge.com/games/956389/grand-theft-auto-6-gta-digital-code-in-box-physical-games)\.
This isn’t the first time apparent footage from*GTA VI*has leaked\. In 2022, 90 videos[leaked online](https://www.theverge.com/2022/9/18/23359156/gta-6-leak-gameplay-footage-90-videos)long before the game’s[official reveal more than a year later](https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/4/23988446/gta-vi-trailer-leaked-vice-city)\(a reveal that*also*leaked, leading Rockstar to publish the game’s first trailer a day early\)\. A teen who played a key role in leaking the 90 videos was sentenced to[life in a secure hospital](https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/21/24011153/gta-vi-hacker-lapsus-sentencing-hospital-prison)\. Rockstar also confirmed earlier this year that it had data compromised in a hack of a third\-party provider, but said the incident[would have](https://www.theverge.com/games/910815/rockstar-games-says-hack-will-have-no-impact)“no impact on our organization or our players\.”
Rockstar and owner Take\-Two didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment\. The[*GTA VI*“extended look”](https://www.theverge.com/entertainment/976073/gta-6-trailer-3-date-time-netflix-youtube)premieres on Netflix on August 27th at 3PM ET and will stream on YouTube at 9PM ET\. The[$79\.99 title](https://www.theverge.com/games/952204/grand-theft-auto-vi-price)is scheduled to launch[on November 19th](https://www.theverge.com/news/816005/grand-theft-auto-vi-gta-g-delayed-november-2026), and for the most part, the industry is steering clear of November and launching their big games[earlier in the year](https://www.theverge.com/entertainment/944229/grand-theft-auto-6-release-calendar-summer-game-fest)\.

Rockstar will air an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI on August 27th, streaming on Netflix and YouTube, with the game slated for a November 19th launch.
After over a decade, Grand Theft Auto VI is finally set for release on November 19, with preorders starting now. The game is expected to be the highest-grossing entertainment property ever, with a $80 base price and a $100 ultimate edition, amid industry anticipation and some fan backlash over digital-only and locked features.
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch at $80 without a physical disc, higher than typical AAA games, due to its scope and anticipated demand. The game releases on November 19 for consoles, with preloading on November 12.
Rockstar announced that physical copies of GTA VI will only contain a download code instead of a disc, raising concerns about the future of physical game ownership and the industry's shift to digital.
Rockstar Games is offering free upgrades of Grand Theft Auto V to current-gen consoles starting June 18, just months before the anticipated GTA VI release in November.
